This Mann Wagon was built in late 1918 or 1919 for Beyer Peacock Co Ltd of Gorton Foundry, Manchester.
It was No. 2 in a fleet of 3 Mann Wagons on general works duties at Gorton Foundry.
It survived by conversion to a soil sterilizing plant. Bob Bailey of Telford recovered it from a nursery at Poynton, Cheshire in 1989.
Pat Jenkins commenced the restoration with just a boiler, front Axle, Perch Bracket and front wheels. The project became a reality in 1997 when, whilst Mr. Jenkins was on holiday in Canada, he found a complete engine including cylinder on Vancouver Island.
